How To Hold Power Chords For A Rock Guitar Sound

Hi binaya,

Power chords are used in Rock Music, but some say they are 'cheat chords' or artificial chords.

Either way, when you mix it with an effect of distortion, they sound absolutely brilliant!

Here's 3 rock power chords for you to use in your own music. We've included audio samples of how each should sound.

5TH STRING ROOT POWER CHORD

The second type is called the 5th string root power chord (played on the 5th string). It is made up of fingers as shown.

5TH STRING ROOT VARIATION POWER CHORD

The third type is called the 5th String Root Variation, as it is a variation of the 5th power chord previously. This time, instead of using 2 fingers, we are now using 3.
