Why drinking urine can be good for you

Dragon

From the archive, first published Tuesday 3rd Aug 2004.Drinking or applying your own urine to the skin may seem like a disgusting and smelly prospect but during the last 20 years there has been a revival of the ancient medical treatment.

Our waste fluid has been used to treat or even cure conditions from eczema, dermatitis, leg ulcers, sore throats, ear and eye infections, fungus infections and athlete's foot to more serious diseases and conditions such as cancer, tuberculosis, asthma, ME and HIV and Aids. It is also a remedy for jellyfish stings.

Sonja Vanderdol, a nutritionist in Hove has recommended the use of urine therapy to treat conditions such as eczema and leg ulcers and has even used it herself both by drinking it and applying it to her skin. She said: "Nobody really knows how it works. "Some people say when using it externally it may be because it is germicidal and it is alkaline rather than acid.

"For using it internally, some people say it is similar to how homeopathy works in that you are getting a little bit of the illness back inside you. "Some people say it is because you are getting vitamins, minerals, amino acid and hormones which can be reused."

Urine has been recommended in religious scriptures, including the Bible. In the world of yoga, using urine is known as amaroli and it was originally a spiritual practice rather than treatment. About 70 years ago Englishman John Armstrong wrote his book, The Water Of Life, having been cured of tuberculosis which had been declared incurable.

In his book he reports on the success stories of people suffering from illnesses such as cancer who were treated with urine by fasting and drinking it, although there is no scientific proof it worked. It is often recommended urine which is a few days old is used for applying to the skin but Sonja said fresh urine can be applied.

The urine should be taken mid-stream. For children it can be mixed with vegetable glycerine to take out the sting but can be applied neat on adults. British actress Sarah Miles was famous for drinking her urine. Fresh urine should be used if it is to be drunk. The best urine is from the morning and taken mid-stream. It can be topped up with apple juice.

People should seek expert advice before using urine as a treatment.

Sonja said: "With babies, always, always check everything with a doctor. Especially with children, I never advise it is taken internally. "Even with adults I would still advise them to see their doctor. If taking any medication do not take it all." However, GP Dr David Delvin, a columnist for The Argus, said: "It is very definitely not recommended by the medical profession in this country because of all the waste products it contains."

HOW TO MAKE EYE POWERFUL

Be confident the more you believe in yourself, the easier you will find to perform eye contact. If talking to a group, look ahead and above the crowd. When you build up confidence start looking around but never look at someone too long as it could cause you to muck up. Look into the person’s eyes and hold the gaze for a bit longer than is socially comfortable. At that point, you will know that you have made eye contact. The best way is not actually to make eye contact but rather look at his/her forehead or hair. It still looks like your making eye contact. Do not scan. When you are talking with somebody, you need not engage him or her in a staring contest, but do not be looking around the room while they are talking. Mimic the speaker’s level and intensity of eye contact. If you have problems with how much eye contact to give somebody, this is a great trick. Be carefull with blinking, both frequency and amplitude. If she (he) blinks more often, this is indicative of anxiety or discomfort: bad sign. If her blinking is slower, it means she is relaxed and at ease, so she is in a good position to be swooned by you. Mirror her (his) eyes: pay attention to her eyebrows and mimic the emotions of surprise or sadness (to “feel her pain”) when she describes a story. It works best if accompanied by a little nod at these points of inflection. Good eye contact must be complemented by a authentic smile, or else you will just be staring, which makes anyone feel uncomfortable. Now don’t always smile, cause that just makes you look insecure, but smile at the key points. Pupil size is very important in eye contact. If they dilate (grow larger), this is a sure-fire sign of attraction. If they pupate (grow smaller), that’s not a good sign. Practice! This is only half a tip because it applies to almost anything in life. Eye contact is a tough thing to master, and can be even tougher if you wait until when it counts to practice it.

HOW TO MAKE SKIN CLEAR AND WHITE

Drink one-to-two liters of water daily. Drinking enough water can help keep your skin hydrated and make you look younger. In addition, drinking plenty of water will improve the blood flow and circulation to your skin. Step 2 Exercise at least one hour a day. Exercise can help you attain a clearer complexion by eliminating harmful toxins via sweat, increase blood circulation and delivery of vital nutrients to your skin cells. Exercise helps regulate the production of the hormones dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) and testosterone that are linked to the cause of acne. These two hormones are produced and increased during stress. Exercise can lower the production of these hormones. Step 3 Exfoliate your skin. Exfoliation removes the dead layer of skin cells from your skin's surface which, over time, can diminish body/facial acne, lessen fine lines and maximize your skin's ability to absorb moisture. There are numerous exfoliating kits you can choose from at your local drugstore. Follow the kit's directions on usage. Step 4 Apply a moisturizer to your skin. Moisturizers help restore moisture to keep your skin clearer, softer, hydrated and nourished. Avoid moisturizers with alcohol since they can dry your skin. Instead, purchase moisturizers with natural ingredients. You can find high-quality natural moisturizers at your local health-food store. Apply the moisturizer to your skin twice daily, especially after exfoliating. Step 5 Consult a dermatologist, who is a physician specializing in the skin. She will check your skin to see if there are any problems and offer helpful advice on how to keep it healthy and clear. Protect your face from the sun. Make it a regular habit to wear a high-SPF sunscreen every single day. Apply the sunscreen about 20 minutes before leaving your home and reapply throughout the day as necessary. If you will be spending long amounts of time in the sun, wear a wide-brimmed hat that completely protects your face from sun exposure. Sun protection is the number-one way to achieve lighter skin. Step 2 Purchase lightening creams. These skin lightening lotions are available at most drug stores or cosmetic counters. Most lightening products contain hydroquinone, which inhibits melanin production, thus resulting in lighter skin. There is some controversy surrounding hydroquinone, but it is still viewed as safe to use. If you prefer to use products with other ingredients, look for lightening lotions that contain mulberry, licorice or bilberry extract. Step 3 See a dermatologist regarding your skin-lightening goals. Dermatologists can prescribe skin-bleaching creams that are stronger than those available in standard drug stores. Follow your doctor's instructions regarding application and be aware that your skin will be more sensitive to the sun while you use these creams. Step 4 Have a series of chemical peels performed on your face. Chemical peels are available in different strengths, ranging from light to deep. The stronger the peel, the deeper it penetrates into the skin. Deep peels treat the most layers of skin, effectively burning them away to reveal lighter, younger skin below. Be aware that you will experience some pain with chemical peels, particularly deep peels. Your skin will be red, irritated and swollen for a few days following the peel. If you wish to avoid this aftereffect, opt for a light peel. Peels work best when performed in a series. Step 5 Get microdermabrasion done to your facial skin. Microdermabrasion involves a licensed technician rubbing a mini sandblaster-like device over your facial skin. Tiny crystals on the end of the device buff away dead, surface-level skin. Since the top layers of skin are removed, the skin below is brought to the forefront. This skin will have far less sun damage and be lighter than the prior top-level skin. Step 6 Consider laser treatments to lighten your face. Lasers emit light which burns away the top, sun-damaged layers of your skin. The skin below will undoubtedly be lighter and more even-toned. Make sure you only have laser treatments performed by a licensed professional. Expect some pain during and following the treatment. Most people find they need a series of treatments to achieve the results they want.

HOW TO PREVENT SWINE FLU

With the massive amount of media coverage today on every cable news network and website, swine flu is getting an unbelievable amount of attention, and rightfully so. World health agencies are scrambling to produce mass amounts of vaccines, and only the coming days will tell of their success. In the mean time, there are things you can do to help lessen your chances of catching the now infamous swine flu virus. The steps you can take to help prevent you or your family from contracting it are extremely simple and easy, but we figured it wouldn’t hurt to give you a refresher course. 1. WASH YOUR HANDS – Yes, we used caps because as simple as this sounds, you would be amazed at how many people do not wash their hands at home or in public (even after a restroom trip). The simple act of soaping up with warm water will reduce your chances of catching almost anything, and if you’re not in the habit of doing this, then you need to start ASAP, especially if you live in any of the affected areas. I can’t imagine that you’re so important and busy that you can’t take literally 3 minutes to wash your hands. Just do it. 2. Face Mask – As we typically see in Asian countries during an outbreak, people wear face masks for a good reason. While it’s not the total solution, it can help prevent you from inhaling any airborne particles of the virus. If you’re in an area that has confirmed cases of swine flu, the last thing you want to do is talk to someone face to face and accidentally catch a particle of their saliva in your mouth (which happens all the time, you just don’t notice it). Face masks are really inexpensive, and can be easily obtained. Here are a few that we recommend: 3. Limit physical contact – Most times it would be seen as a rude or disrespectful gesture to not shake hands, kiss, or hug (depending on what country you’re in), but I’m sure no one would have a problem with holding back physical contact during a time of worldwide emergency. The less you touch other people, the lesser chance you have of coming into contact with the virus. 4. Limit public transportation – Everyone has to work, travel, etc…but if you’re in an area of swine flu outbreak, you might want to consider limiting your time on the bus, subway, airports, or any kind of public transportation. This is only temporary, of course, but could make the difference of coming into contact with the virus or not.

HOW TO MAKE TEETH GERM FREE

There are easy things you can do to make your home healthier and germ-free.Living Rooms:Keep windows opened just enough to circulate the air and help to ventilate the room and you can purchase an Ionic Air Purifier Machine that contains a HEPA filter which works the best in removing pollen and dust from the air.Arrange plants around the living room that remove toxins from the air. Bamboo Palm, Chinese evergreen, Snake Plant and English Ivy are just a few choices of air-filtering plants that you can have in your home. Use organic cotton curtains.Keep a can of Lysol spray or a box of disinfecting wipes by the computer and the telephone that hangs on the wall. Wipe or spray the earpiece of the phone off as well as the speaker end before and after each use. Wipe the computer keys and the mouse off before and after each use too.Spray all of the door handles around your home and the knobs on kitchen cabinets and doors with Lysol spray to keep germs away.Purchase a bag-less vacuum cleaner that comes with a dust and pollen trapping HEPA filter.Bathrooms:Instead of using all of those cleaners that only contain harsh chemicals to clean your bathroom, switch to all natural products that will not fill the air will with toxins. Clorox makes a line of natural cleaners, which do a great job.Instead of using a vinyl shower curtain liner that can hold up to over 100 different toxins month after month, swap the vinyl for a shower curtain liner that is made from bamboo because they are all antibacterial since they are a natural product. If you do choose to use a vinyl shower curtain liner, you can keep germs and bacteria down by washing the curtain with a simple solution and bleach and water.Use natural wool rugs in front of the shower and sink.Kitchens:Use different cutting boards for different foods: one for slicing and cutting meats, and one exclusively for slicing veggies. Keep your kitchen counters sanitized by using a natural solution your make at home: Combine 1 tablespoon unscented bleach to one gallon of water. least once a month to keep the spread of bacteria down. Use one sponge for washing dishes and another sponge for cleaning up spills.Have your cook stove and oven checked out periodically by a professional to make sure that there are no leaks ofgases.Install water filters on your faucets in the kitchen. To receive information on the water supply in your home, call the EPA at: 800-426-4791Dining Rooms:Dining tables and storage chests that are made out of solid wood do not give off toxins. Just be sure that there are no particleboards used since this does give off toxins.Instead of using carpets or rugs throughout your home, lay tile flooring down and cut down on the dust particles flying around your home.Bedrooms:Use organic cotton curtains or drapes.

HOW TO MAKE TEETH WHITE

Step 1 Brush your teeth with baking soda and peroxide or a whitening toothpaste recommended by your dentist. Many name-brand toothpastes now contain baking soda to help remove surface stains from coffee, tea, and soda, and many bleaching systems contain hydrogen peroxide to help users make their teeth whiter. Dip your toothbrush in a small amount of peroxide and then dip it into the baking soda. Brush your teeth for at least two minutes and rinse your mouth well. Brush your teeth using your regular toothpaste for at least 30 seconds afterward. While this method is very effective in helping most people achieve a whiter smile, you should only use it once or twice a week to prevent tooth sensitivity. Step 2 Eat plenty of strawberries. Strawberries contain malic acid, a natural bleaching agent that may be just as effective as name brand teeth-whiteners. You can even mash a strawberry and apply it directly to your teeth to brighten your smile gently and effectively. Step 3 Try rubbing a ripe banana peel on your teeth every day. Simply use the inside of a banana peel to massage your teeth for at least two minutes before brushing. You should see a stunning improvement in your smile in as little as two weeks. Step 4 Use a whitening mouthwash to get whiter teeth and kill bacteria in the mouth. Whitening mouthwashes work well for removing surface stains on the areas of your teeth that are hard to reach with a toothbrush or dental floss. Swish the liquid in your mouth for at least 60 seconds twice daily to make your teeth whiter and improve your smile. Step 5 Avoid using products that make your teeth whiter but create long-term problems. Many household products have received acclaim on the Internet for producing bright smiles, but most dentists don't agree with the claims. Brushing your teeth in lemon or lime juice, salt brine or household bleach will whiten your teeth, but the results are only temporary and they come at a high cost. Lemon juice, lime juice and bleach can wear away the enamel of the teeth and expose the yellow dentin beneath, while salt brine destroys the delicate tissue of the gums, which can cause your teeth to become dislodged and fall out. If you're unsure about the safety of teeth-whitening products, talk to your dentist.

HOW TO BE HEALTHY

Exercise for the Body and the Brain Physical Activity can be helpful for maintaining a healthy body weight and body composition. Being physically active helps in lowering one’s risk for cardiovascular diseases, improves risks of diabetes, improves mood and lowers one’s risk for depression. Being active also includes involving others whether a human or an animal companion on your walks. The brain also needs to be kept active. Keeping the brain active involves using the brain daily by solving crossword puzzles or math equations, reading, writing, imagining and creating. Volunteering and being socially active is also a good way to keep the brain energized and active. Healthy Foods Focus on eating a variety of healthy foods. "Healthy Foods" include eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, cereals, breads and other grain products and legumes (beans). With dairy and meats the emphasis is on choosing lower-fat milk products, leaner meats and foods prepared with little or no fat. In addition limit the intake of salt, alcohol and caffeine. Enough Sleep Sleep is important for people of all ages. Getting enough sleep has been shown to increase one's ability to fight off diseases, improve your cardiovascular health and improve mood. Sleep can also help with improving one's ability to concentrate, learning and memory in addition to reducing irritability and impatience. The average amount of sleep needed by people is 8 hours a night but many people can do well on 6 hours, where others need as much as 10. The absolute amount of sleep needed varies from person to person. Perhaps the best thing for many people about getting enough sleep is having more energy to do what they like to do. Aging Healthfully Aging healthfully includes, among others, finding ways to reduce and manage stress, being physically active, getting enough sleep, eating healthy foods, making good lifestyle choices, staying socially active, watching for changes and nurturing the spirit as well as the mind. Lifestyle Choices Since 70 – 80 % of longevity depends on lifestyle choices, it is important to emphasize the good lifestyle choices and de-emphasize the poor ones. Good lifestyle choices include eating healthy food, participating in daily physical and mental activity, getting enough sleep and minimizing stress. Poor lifestyle choices to de-emphasize include limiting or reducing high fat foods, limiting the number of empty calories – those from sugar, fat and alcohol, quit smoking and using tobacco and limiting the amount of inactivity. Time to Unwind Stress can impact a person over a lifetime. Whether the stress comes from the environment or personal sources all forms cause a stress response in the body, which over time drains the body reserves making the person more susceptible to illness and disease. Taking the time to unwind and reducing, removing and de-stressing helps lessen the negative impact on the body and improves overall health and well being. Health Checks Yearly routine exams are an important part of monitoring for potential diseases. Getting blood pressure checked, cholesterol and lipids screenings, being evaluated for risks of osteoporosis and getting basic cancer screenings (mammogram, colonoscopy and prostate exams) can to help a person “BE HEALTHY.” In addition, it is important to watch for any changes and signs of disease and seek prompt treatment if something arises. Youthful Thoughts Author Ellen Glasgow once noted "Though it sounds absurd, it is true to say I felt younger at sixty than I felt at twenty." There is a lot of truth in the expression, "You're as young as you feel" so to feel young, remember to think young thoughts. Final Thoughts Remember that following these simple tips, making daily healthy food and lifestyle changes over a lifetime can greatly improve a person’s longevity* or your total years of life lived and also the quality of living. To Stay Healthy as you age, you have to BE HEALTHY for life.

HOW TO INCREASE OUR MEMORY POWER

1. Use Repetition - Repeating to yourself the thing you want to remember may be simple, but it really does work. Repeat a phone number several times, for example, and you should remember it for a short while. This works even better if you "sing" it in your mind to engage other parts of the brain. To remember things long-term, repeat or review them several times upon learning them, then the next day, the day after that, the the next week and the week after that. 2. Write It Down - Let the paper remember for you. The point is to have use of the information later, and if that's more easily done by way of an "external memory device" like pen and paper, why not take advantage of these tools? Also, writing things down is another way to more strongly "fix" something in our minds. 3. Clear Your Mind - Sometimes to recall something you just need to relax and empty your mind of all the other stuff going on in there. Take three deep and slow breaths through your nose and relax your muscles. Pay attention to the air moving in and out of your nostrils. Afterwards return to whatever it is you need to recall or work on. 4. Feed Your Brain - This means feeding your body of course. Your brain needs a lot of energy, and will generally function better if you eat some good proteins and complex carbohydrates. Trail mix, with nuts and dried fruit works well for some. Fish has been shown to immediately speed up brain function, as well as improve memory and other brain functions long-term improvement if eaten regularly. Also, the distraction caused by hunger can interfere with your concentration and ability to recall things. 5. Drink Enough Fluids - Dehydration is not always recognized, and can both distract you in ways that get in the way of clear thinking and memory, as well as more directly impacting the functioning of the brain. You can experiment to see if this is happening in your case. Just drink a glass of water and note whether your mind seems to work better. 6. Exercise - Physical exercise has been shown to improve brain function both immediately (after ten minutes on a treadmill, for example), and long term. The short-term effect is because of the immediate increase in blood flow and therefore oxygen to the brain. The long-term improvement in memory and other brain functions that come from regular exercise may also be due to the physical improvement of the brain and body that comes from this repeated increase in blood flow and oxygen. 7. Learn A Mnemonic Technique - There are many good memory techniques for remembering names, numbers, lists of things and more. A simple list of items can be "fixed" in your memory, for example, by linking them together in a crazy story that you visualize. You can find some of these techniques (as well as other memory tips) covered here on the website and in the Brainpower Newsletter. 8. Imagine The Use - If you think about how you will use information, you're more likely to remember it. For example if after learning a new algorithm in a math class you imagine using it during a test, you'll probably remember it better - particularly when taking a test. Imagine meeting someone again in the future and using his name, and you'll likely recall it when that does happen. 9. Avoid Toxins - Smoking is the obvious one here. Although it may actually help a person concentrate in the short-term, the damage smoking does may later hurt brain function in general, including memory. Many prescription drugs and of course illegal drugs can also have a negative effect. 10. Reduce Stress - When you're stressed, your body releases cortisol, which at high levels interferes with the part of the brain that handles recent memories. Chronic stress has even been shown to cause brain shrinkage. Meditate or do other self-work to learn how not to be stressed out. This may be the most important of these tips on how to improve memory, good not only for the brain but for your whole body and life experience.

Making Weight Loss Easy

If you are overweight, you are taking in more calories than your body needs every day, so you need to eat less. You probably already know that, and you already know that eating less just isn’t any fun —- you don't want to feel hungry all day. So you do you stay full without eating too many calories? The key is to eat plenty of fiber with every meal, but most people don’t do that. Fiber keeps you feeling full longer, and of course, fiber is also really important for a healthy digestive system. Where do you get dietary fiber? From whole grains and from fruits and vegetables. Aim for 3 servings of 100% whole grains and 5 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetables everyday. Here is my advice for easier weight loss. Starting with your next meal, eat more fiber. Is it breakfast? Choose a cup of a whole grain cereal with half a cup of non-fat milk topped with a half cup of strawberries. Lunch time? Make a sandwich with 100% whole grain bread, one small slice of turkey and plenty of tomato slices, avocados, sprouts, lettuce and mustard instead of high-calorie mayo. And no potato chips. Serve your sandwich with a small salad. For dinner, cut that big steak in half (that's all you need) and serve it with two cups of your favorite green vegetables. Still hungry? Eat more of the vegetables, not the steak. What about dessert? Have a bowl of fresh berries with a dollop of light whipped topping. More Easy Weight Loss Tips Watch the sugary beverages. Instead, drink water, non-fat milk and zero-calorie beverages. Slow down -- when you eat too fast you will eat too much. Choose broth-based soups, such as chicken broth, with lots of vegetables over cream soups. When you go out to eat, take half of your meal home. Keep a bowl of fresh fruit on the kitchen counter instead of a jar of cookies. Don't skip meals -- you will just get too hungry and eat too much at the next meal. Add one cup of chopped vegetables to your favorite soup or pasta meal. Don't keep high-calorie snacks in the house -- buy fresh vegetables and fruits, low-fat yogurt, and enjoy air-popped or light popcorn. Keep track of calories -- join Calorie Count. source us deparnment of health

How to Look Good for Teenage Guys in the Morning

Step 1 Keep your hair looking good. Wash, dry and style it before you go to school. Keep it clean and check on your hair a few times a day in the girls bathroom. Take a good brush with you to school and keep it in your bag so you can always fix your hair. Step 2 Dress nicely. Wear nice clothes that suit your figure and colors that suit your skin tone. Find a middle ground and accessorize. Wear a great hair clip, pretty earrings and a dainty necklace or bracelet that coordinates with your outfit. Step 3 Brush and floss your teeth. Make sure you don't have any of your breakfast left over in your teeth when you smile, which is such a turnoff. Also, make sure your entire appearance is well groomed. Step 4 Wear a little makeup. Teenage boys like girls who have more of a natural look. Too much makeup might make you look false and trashy. Rub a little blush into your cheeks for extra glow in the morning or wear subtle lip gloss to highlight your smile. Step 5 Wear nice shoes. Girls think that teenage boys don't notice the shoes they wear, but they do. Avoid wearing scraggly old shoes that are stained and ripped. Find some cute black shoes as they are more unnoticeable than bright shoes.

HOW TO INCREASE HEIGHT

Wear Flattering Shoes-I'm always amazed when a short person wears flat soled shoes. I know many of you want to avoid being identified as wearing 'elevator shoes' - but you can wear shoes that enhance your height without it being obvious. Wear sandals or boots with higher heels will make you look taller, and also larger, bulkier shoes will give the illusion of being taller. Wear The Right Clothes -you can change your wardrobe to make yourself look much taller. It is amazing how many people don't realize what they are wearing actually makes them look shorter than they really are! Wear pinstripes, you'll look taller, and the vertical stripes slim your look as well. Avoid all-over patterns - wear solid colors, but contrast the look - wear light color pants with a dark shirt, for example. This technique will draws the eye to your waist, and make you look taller. Also, avoid 'high-water' pants! Wear you pants with the longest inseam you can get away with - avoid large flares at the cuff. You can really increase height by wearing the correct pant length. Your Hairstyle Is Important- keep you hair short and off the neck - it will make your neck seem longer. It will also give you a more substantial profile - too many short people wear long hair and 'disappear' within their locks. Long hair makes you look shorter. Attitude Is Everything! You can't change what mother nature gave (or did not) give you. I have several dogs - the smallest one is the most confident - he struts around the house like he 'owns' the place! The other dogs respect him and give him the right-of-way most all of the time! My little dog gave me a good lesson on attitude. Stand Up Straight! This is the basic rule most people, tall or short, break routinely. There is no way to permanently increase height by walking and sitting with good posture, making a habit of correct body positioning will make you look much taller. How many shorter people do you see that slump while sitting or standing? It seems some just want to disappear into the background! Keep your shoulders back, back straight, your chin, nose and eyebrows lifted high, and you will be amazed at the different way others will perceive you. Dress correctly, style your hair short and off the neck, practice good posture and watch your attitude - and you'll be taller in everyone's eyes - especially your own.! Swine flu

यसलाई "fits into the mixing vessel hypothesis," पनि भनिएको छ।

Are you Healthy? : Nutrious Food

Carbohydrates: these provide a source of energy. Proteins: these provide a source of materials for growth and repair. Fats: these provide a source of energy and contain fat soluble vitamins.

Fiber: this is required to help your intestines function correctly; it is not digested.
Balanced Diets: we must have the above items in the correct proportions. Carbohydrates Carbohydrates are the most important source of energy. They contain the elements Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen. The first part of the name "carbo-" means that they contain Carbon. The second part of the name "-hydr-" means that they contain Hydrogen. The third part of the name "-ate-" means that they contain Oxygen. In all carbohydrates the ratio of Hydrogen atoms to Oxygen atoms is 2:1 just like water Proteins are required for growth and repair. Proteins contain Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen and sometimes Sulphur. Proteins are very large molecules, so they cannot get directly into our blood; they must be turned into amino-acids by the digestive system. There are over 20 different amino-acids. Our bodies can turn the amino-acids back into protein. When our cells do this they have to put the amino-acids together in the correct order. There are many millions of possible combinations or sequences of amino-acids; it is our DNA which contains the information about how to make proteins. Our cells get their amino-acids from the blood Like carbohydrates, fats contain the elements Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen. Fats are used as a source of energy: they are also stored beneath the skin helping to insulate us against the cold. Do not think that by avoiding fat in your diet you will stay thin and elegant! If you eat too much carbohydrate and protein, you will convert some of it into fat, so you will put on weight. You must balance the amount of energy containing foods with the amount of energy that you use when you take exercise. Vitamins are only required in very small quantities. There is no chemical similarity between these chemicals; the similarity between them is entirely biological.

Vitamins: these are required in very small quantities to keep you healthy. Mineral Salts: these are required for healthy teeth, bones, muscles etc..
Vitamin A: good for your eyes. Vitamin B: about 12 different chemicals.
Vitamin C: needed for your body to repair itself.
Vitamin D: can be made in your skin, needed for absorption of Calcium
Vitamin E: the nice one - reproduction? Fats Like carbohydrates, fats contain the elements Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen. You must have some fat in your diet because it contains fat soluble vitamins
Mineral Salts These are also needed in small quantities, but we need more of these than we need of vitamins. Iron: required to make haemoglobin. Calcium: required for healthy teeth, bones and muscles.

Sodium: all cells need this, especially nerve cells. Iodine: used to make a hormone called thyroxin. Fibre We do not can not digest cellulose. This is a carbohydrate used by plants to make their cell walls. It is also called roughage. If you do not eat foods materials which contain fibre you might end up with problems of the colon and rectum. The muscles of you digestive system mix food with the digestive juices and push food along the intestines by peristalsis; if there is no fibre in your diet these movements cannot work properly. You must have carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins, minerals salts and fibre in the correct proportions. If there is not enough protein, you will not be able to grow properly and you will not be able to repair yourself i.e. wounds will not heal properly. If you do not have enough energy containing foods you will feel very tired, you will not have enough energy. If you have too much energy containing foods you will become overweight. If you think that you are overweight you might try taking more exercise to "burn off" some of the excess food which you ate at you last meal.

How to cure pimples

Having huge, unsightly pimples across your face can damage your self-esteem. Most people who suffer from frequent breakouts are more self-conscious than the others and are generally shy to mingle with other people. They may find a guy or a girl attractive but are afraid to flirt with him or ask her out on a date because they feel they would surely be rejected. The fastest way to get rid of acne pimples is to always keep a topnotch hygiene and to be aware of what you are eating and drinking. Pimples are caused by impurities in the bloodstream. People who suffer from this have way more toxins in the body than those that don't. To flush out these toxins, you must drink lots of water every day and eat more fruits and veggies. They naturally clean your bloodstream and help prevent frequent breakouts in the skin. Another fastest way to get rid of acne pimples is to make sure your environment is kept clean all the time. Change your beddings regularly and wear shirts that are clean. Always keep your house and room clean because particles like dust can find its way into your face and cause a breakout. When taking a bath, take time to steam your face so that the pores will open and the bacteria will come out. Keep junk foods to an absolute minimum. Avoid foods that are loaded with fats, oils, and sugar. Eating these foods can cause hormonal imbalance and interfere with your body's natural cleansing process. I know that what I am about to reveal to you about how to get rid of acne can be almost impossible to believe. But it is 100% truth!
